Per Diem Tissue Procurement Technician I
Based out of Itasca, IL office
Per Diem employee (Non-Exempt)
Responsibilities: In this position you will be responsible for performing activities directly related to the tissue retrieval process. You will work on an on-call basis for the purpose of assisting the Tissue Recovery Coordinator with tissue procurements; you must be available to work a minimum of six days per scheduling period.
Qualifications: You must be a certified RN, PA, EMT, ORT, or have a High School Diploma with six months of tissue banking experience (or other related field - i.e., pathology assistant, anatomist, etc.).
Donation Specialist
Based out of Itasca, IL office
Full-time employee (Non-Exempt)
Donation Facilitation Responsibilities: In this position you will be responsible for creating an environment, and providing accurate and relevant information that allows each potential organ donor family to make an informed decision about organ and tissue donation. You will need to cultivate relationships, and facilitate Patient Care Conferences within assigned region with hospital staff to foster collaborations when determining the best time, place, and manner to speak with families. In this role, you will assume on-call responsibilities as determined by the Regional Manager, and conduct accurate and effective on-site evaluations of potential organ donors. You must be able to provide proper assessments of patient medical status in conjunction with the Administrator On-Call to determine organ donor potential.
Hospital Development Responsibilities: In this position you must function as an expert resource within the hospital on all aspects of organ and tissue donation. In conjunction with hospital administration, you will participate with the regional team in the creation and implementation of effective policies and procedures to the donation process. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans with the regional team to identify hospital strengths and weaknesses in order to optimize hospital performance. This includes proactively reviewing data with regional team members and reporting collective data to hospital administration and department managers. It is essential that you establish effective working relationships with hospital administrators, physicians, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals, as you will help promote donation as part of the hospital’s mission. Additionally, you will develop, provide and evaluate educational programs with the regional team on all aspects of the donation process.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in an Allied Healthcare field, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent work experience is required.
